Some Devon Quakers also join a daily online 'Epilogue' from 9 - 9:15pm, hosted by Friends from around England & Wales.

This will take place at Exeter Meeting House on Friday,18th March 2022 at 2.30pm. Owing to restrictions on numbers in the Meeting House itself, people will be invited in person by Viv Davies. This is a "Woodbrooke Where You Are" event for SW Quakers, in conjunction with Quaker Life.
The day, particularly for those new to the Quaker way, will introduce the basic and essential elements of Quakerism.

The expectation of a transforming encounter with the Divine (however we describe it), the use of a distinctive form of collective worship to nurture that encounter; discernment; and witness – the life that emerges as an outcome of our faith. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions and we are planning a series of shorter sessions online and in person to follow this day, starting with a Zoom introduction on 19/05/22

Venue: Princetown, Dartmoor
Meet in the Square at Princetown outside of the National Park Visitor Centre for MfW for 15 minutes or so. Then those who wish to have the stroll could move off at about 10:45 for a 3-mile stroll over the moors and have a picnic lunch out on the moors at the Crock of Gold burial chamber. There is a hope to be back in Princetown in time for a cuppa at 2pm !!
This day is marked around the world: International Conscientious Objectors' Day - May 15th | Peace Pledge Union (ppu.org.uk)
Over 1000 men were held in Princetown during and after World War I.

A day for refreshment and renewal
When we come together in community, we can be shown our unique gifts and find expressions for them. There will be time to share experiences, identify gifts, discuss simple ways
to build community and celebrate as a group. A simple task based fun day where we can be enriched and recognise the value of each individual in Meeting.
A day hosted by Taunton Local Meeting and open to Quakers from across the Westcountry. The day will be led by Quaker Life’s Local Development worker Wendy Hampton, together with Pip Harris. There is no charge for the day, but donations to the work of Quaker Life are welcomed.
There is also the potential for Friends to join as a group remotely

Refreshments: Taunton Local Meeting will provide teas and coffees. For lunch there are two alternatives: either a ‘bring a plate of something to share with others’ lunch, OR alternatively ‘bring your own packed lunch to eat yourself’ if the later feels more comfortable.

It is a year of online evening sessions running May 2022 to April 2023 (third Thursday of each month 7:00 to 8:30pm on Zoom)
Facilitated by Pip Harris (Quaker Life local worker),
supported by a two Friends at each session.
There is no charge for these monthly online sessions.
Open to Friends across the South West (Cornwall, Devon & Somerset). This series of conversations follows on from a “Woodbrooke where you are” day ‘The Heart of Quakerism’, being held online and in Plymouth on 14 May (part of this day will be blended). Separate details for this day are available.
